Volgograd Philharmonic

The building of the State Budgetary Institution of Culture “Volgograd Philharmonic” is six stories high with a two-level basement. It was constructed as part of the river station complex with a concert hall and restaurant in Volgograd in 1989. The building is located along the Central Embankment and adjoins the landing stage and the terrace of the Volga River embankment.
The uniqueness of the building lies in the fact that it houses an organ, one of the few such musical instruments in the south of Russia. It is a cultural heritage site of the Volgograd Region and one of the numerous attractions of the glorious Hero City of Volgograd.
The main goal of the reconstruction project is to create a second height above the stage plane, as well as to install modern lifting and lowering mechanisms (winches) for stage equipment (stage border, spotlights, acoustic systems, multimedia screen). The installation of mechanized equipment will expand the functionality of the concert hall, which has a capacity of over 1,000 people. In addition, the hall will be able to transform for various types of events: classical concerts, theatrical performances, ceremonial and festive events, and screenings of multimedia programs. Additionally, the project includes the repair of the building’s facades and foyer, replacement of display glazing, roof repair, and updating of engineering systems.
