Project description
The building of the Volgograd Philharmonic State Budget Cultural Institution is a six-storey building with two underground floors. It was built in 1989 as part of the Volgograd River Station complex (including a concert hall and a restaurant). The building is located on the Central Embankment, next to the approach ramp of the pier and the terraces of the Volga embankment.
The uniqueness of this building lies in the fact that it houses one of the few organs in the south of Russia. This instrument is an object of cultural heritage of the Volgograd region and one of the many attractions of the hero city of Volgograd.
The main purpose of the reconstruction project is to create a second height level above the stage plane, as well as to install modern lifting and mechanical devices (winches) for stage equipment (stage curtains, spotlights, sound system, multimedia screens). The installation of mechanized equipment will expand the functionality of the concert hall with a capacity of more than 1,000 people. In addition, the hall can be transformed to host various types of events: classical concerts, theatrical performances, festive and festive events, multimedia program screenings. In addition, the project includes the restoration of the building’s facade and foyer, the replacement of stained glass windows, roof repairs and the renovation of engineering systems.
